If you are looking for a go to salad for a party or get together then I have the perfect side dish for you. My Mom used to make this for us when we were growing up and absolutely loved it. It has so much flavor packed into one bowl and it’s super easy to make.
Broccoli Salad
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup hot water
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp mayo
- 1 cup mayo
- 3 heads of fresh broccoli cut into small pieces.
- 10 – 12 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese – cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries
Directions:
1. Cook bacon in oven or on stove until crispy. Bacon needs to be warm or room temperature before adding to mixture.
2. Place cut up broccoli in a medium sized bowl
3. Microwave water for about 2 minutes. You want it hot
4. Pour sugar in hot water and whisk until dissolved
5. Pour sugar mixture on top of broccoli and mix
6. Add rest of ingredients in broccoli bowl and mix well
7. Refrigerate for at least 2 – 3 hours before serving
